Theatre puget Sound
Auditions have coNCLUDED for the 2026 Season
UPDATE YOUR PROFILE
If you auditioned in person at the 2026 Unified General Auditions, it’s not too late to add your self-taped video to the Digital Binder.
Simply return to your original registration form, select “Digital Only,” and proceed with payment and submitting the link to your video. Once received, we’ll add it to your profile so that auditors—who reference the Digital Binder throughout the year—can easily revisit your work and refresh their memory of your talent.
Eligibility
Membership
You must be a current member of Theatre Puget Sound or Portland Area Theatre Alliance.
Experience
You must meet one (1) of the following requirements to make the first round of scheduling:
- 4 professional stage credits (fully staged, cannot be academic or self-produced)
- College acting degree, or working towards one
- Active member of Actors’ Equity Association, or an Equity Membership Candidate (EMC)
- Letter of recommendation from a local casting director or director
The Unified General Auditions are not intended for beginning actors; it is generally not beneficial for actors until they have reached the eligibility requirements listed above. If you do not meet one of the eligibility options listed above and would still like to apply, you can be put on the waitlist.
Audition Types
Registrants of any audition type will have a profile included in the digital binder.
In Person
These auditions are held on location, in TPS Center Theatre at Seattle Center. Auditioners perform in front of a live audience of producing companies, artistic directors, casting directors, etc.
Self-Taped Digital Video Auditions
Performers unable to secure an in-person audition, preferring to audition digitally or who wish to enhance their digital binder profile, are welcome to include a link to their self-taped audition in their registration. These self-tapes will be included in their profile in the Digital Binder.
Registration Cost
Singing Audition: $25
Non-Singing Auditions: $20
Self-Taped Digital Auditions: $12
Registration fees are non-refundable.
Location
The auditions take place in the TPS Center Theatre, located on the first floor of the Seattle Center Armory (305 Harrison St.)
Scheduling
You will receive an email once your application has been approved. In your approval email you will find a link to access our online scheduler. Please note that slots are first come, first serve and it is in your best interest to schedule your audition date and time quickly. We cannot guarantee accommodation for scheduling conflicts. Be mindful of the Registration Deadline you receive in your acceptance email. TPS will begin inviting those from our waitlist for spots not claimed after that date.
Waitlist
Waitlist members will be notified after initial scheduling, for an update on available times. If no times are available, waitlist actors’ headshots and resumes will still be given to auditors, and they will have a chance to register for a virtual audition in the Digital Binder.
Not all applicants are guaranteed an audition slot. If you do not get awarded an audition slot, you can choose on your application to be considered for the waitlist. You may be asked to prioritize the type of audition you prefer to help us fill spots on the day of auditions in the appropriate categories.
Materials
You are encouraged to provide a full-color headshot and complete PDF resume in your registration. These are made available to all auditors in a digital format. You may also include a link to your professional website, and a link to a self-taped video audition (for an additional fee). Please be prepared to upload all materials at the time of registration (once you have received communication that your application has been approved and you are being awarded an audition slot).
Monologue Library
Consider choosing your monologue from our TPS monologue library – materials written and provided by local playwrights. When using materials from the monologue library, we ask that you prepare to slate the name of the writer and the title of the work you are performing. You will gain access to the Monologue Library once you have completed an application for the Auditions. Check the confirmation email you receive for access information.
Auditor Roster
An updated list of the auditors in the space is available on the bottom of this page, and is updated as more auditors register for the event. TPS works to provide a list of auditors who were in the room during your audition so that you have the opportunity to follow up with those auditors after your audition.
2026 Audition Applications are now Closed.
To submit to the 2026 Regional Digital Binder please contact it@tpsonline.org. Submissions will be accepted through April 15th, 2026. If you auditioned this year and are curious about materials used or who was in the room, please stay tuned. These lists are being compiled and will be made available on this page shortly.
2026 Stage Workers Week Wrap Up
Monologue Usage 2026
Song Usage 2026
The Audition.
Non-union actors get 2 minutes to audition, while AEA/EMC actors get 3 minutes. You can do any number of monologues/songs within your allotted time.
If you are doing a Non-Singing audition – you will perform only a monologue in your audition. If you are doing a Singing audition you may use your time for both acting and singing.
Singing Auditioners get 3 minutes for their entire audition (whether union or non union) and you can chose to use that time in whichever way you see fit (1 song, 1 monlogue, 2 songs, etc).
Accompanist
If you’re singing, you will briefly meet with the accompanist immediately before your audition, on stage. The accompanist for 2026 is Alma David Taylor.
Location
The auditions are held at the Center Theatre in the Seattle Center Armory, located on the Seattle Center campus. The theater is located on the 1st floor, easily accessible from the East side of the building.
PARKING: Street and lot parking is available on all sides of the Seattle Center Campus. The Armory is located near the center of campus, so it does not really matter which side you’re parked. Street parking can be hard to come by, so arrive early to look for a spot.
Check In
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your audition time. Look for the Actor Check-In table in the lobby of the Center Theatre. A volunteer will note your arrival and guide you to the warm-up rooms.
Warm-Up Rooms
A loud and quiet warm-up room is provided for actor preparation. A TPS staff member will periodically stop by these rooms to bring actors to the “On Deck Circle.” TPS will also give a reminder of the rules and processes so make sure you’re in one of the rooms to hear the speech!
The On Deck Circle
When your audition time is near, TPS will personally escort you to the “On Deck Circle.” Once the actor on stage has finished and left the stage, it’s your time! Pause a moment, take a deep breath, and head into the Center Theatre.
Show Time!
- Find your light (it will be marked on the floor)
- If you are singing, first meet with the accompanist to discuss your piece.
- A chair and an actor block will be available on stage.
- Greet the auditors with your full name, as well as the titles of the monologues and/or songs you will be performing.
- Speak clearly and let your personality shine through! If you are utilizing one of the Local Playwright provided Monologues from the TPS monologue library, please credit your piece appropriately.
- Once you’re finished, thank the audience and leave through the door marked “ACTOR EXIT”
Timer
- All auditions are timed.
- The clock starts the moment you “start” your first piece (if your piece does not begin with spoken text, the timer starts the moment you begin your action or music starts.)
- The Timekeeper’s job is to make sure we stay on our extremely tight schedule and to make sure that everyone is treated equitably. Therefore, the person doing this job is instructed to be rigorously strict regarding time.
- If you go over time, the Timekeeper will say “Thank You.” There is no warning system or light.
- Once time has been called: stop immediately, thank the auditors, and leave.
- If you used the chair or block, make sure to put it back where it was before your audition.
Check Out
You’re finished. Take a deep breath and be proud of your work!
You do not need to check out with TPS Staff.
Make sure you have all your belongings. Did you forget something in one of the warmup rooms? We acquire many water bottles every year.
For your convenience an up-to-date list of auditors is available online and in the lobby of the theatre.
Consider tagging theatre puget sound in your social media #theatrepugetsound
Post Audition
TPS does not conduct and is not affiliated with any callbacks. Each theatre has its own method and approach to casting. Some may catch up with you before you exit the auditorium, others may contact you 10 hours after your audition, still others will have you on their minds and be hoping for an opportunity to use you but not have reason to contact you for 10 months. There is no “usual” way things go.
Digital Auditions.
Digital Submissions:
Digital Submissions to the 2026 Region Binder will be available through April 15th.
To be included in the 2026 Digital Binder without completing the in-person audition is EASY! You may choose to record a video audition of 2 min. in length for non-union members and 3 min. in length for union members. Your video may include a combination of monologues and/or musical theatre.
Send a request for registration to submit via the Digital Binder to tps@tpsonline.org.
You will be asked to complete your profile and to submit a link to your video audition that should be housed on a platform like YouTube or Vimeo (Hint: Make sure your video is set to “public” so that casting directors can view it).
The Auditors.
Auditors of the 2026 UGAs are updated in real time. Use the search and filter features below to see which auditors will be in attendance during your audition slot.

eSe Teatro
Contact:
About the Organization/Auditor:
Our Mission
Empowering local Latine artists to create, produce and promote professional theater in English, Spanish, bilingual and Spanglish. Providing a voice for emerging, mid-career and established Latine artists as well as communities by sharing culturally and socially relevant stories through our innovative programming, workshops, and initiatives.
Our Philosophy
Founded in 2010, eSe Teatro honors self-definition and inclusion, striving to represent everyone within our Latinidad and beyond. Our affiliated artists range from immigrants to U.S. born, Spanish-speaking and non-Spanish-speaking, representing cultures and heritages from all over The Americas and Caribbean.
Our Work
Exploring language, shared history, and cultural roots, through adaptations of classics as well as new works and script development.
Our Name
The name "eSe Teatro" is significant, as "ese" means "that" in Spanish, as well as being the popular Chicano expression of familiarity in peer groups (wus up ese?). "Ese" is also the name of the letter “S,” as in Spanish and Seattle.
For the UGAs, we're looking for fellow Latines, Spanish-speakers, and anyone passionate about telling our stories!

Dacha Theatre
Contact:
About the Organization/Auditor:
Dacha is a Seattle-based theater company founded in 2016 that specializes in devised, immersive, and playful work. All our shows are always ticketed on a sliding scale and have a pay-what-you-can option, to ensure no one ever experiences a financial barrier to seeing live theater.
Our processes frequently rehearse on weekday evenings and weekend daytimes. We build our shows with the unique contributions of everyone in the room; we reimagine existing systems and old narratives, in both the stories we tell and the ways we tell them. We use devising processes throughout our work, whether creating original immersive spectacles, blowing up classic work, or producing the West Coast premieres of compelling new work. Our audiences are at the heart of our events, exploring the new worlds we create and building meaningful connections with each other from a place of community and joy.
We are primarily considering collaborators for future seasons and projects. We anticipate our next few seasons including tours around the Pacific Northwest, site-specific original work, and groundbreaking new scripts.

About the Organization/Auditor:
I was the Executive Artistic Director of Bridges Stage Company, which presented the West Coast premiere of Edmund White’s Terre Haute at ACT Theatre in 2014.
I was trained as an actor by Mira Rostova (legendary famous New York acting teacher), studied in London under actors and directors of The National Theatre of Great Britain and the Royal Shakespeare Company, and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (B.F.A. in Acting) and the University of Washington (M.F.A. in Directing).
My new quartet of acting books,“Passing It On: A Dialogue on Acting” will be used in the class (prior to publication). I have taught acting to both beginners and professionals for over 47 years.
Your monologues will be taken to the next level by the techniques and wealth of knowledge and monologue choices that I have at my disposal.
If you're cast in a production, I can help you overcome your challenges.
